Austin Amani, pria asal Kenya ini akhirnya memutuskan masuk Islam

Ibu Austin juga mengajarkan dirinya untuk menghindari semua siswa muslim di sekolah tersebut.
Keluarga Amani memiliki citra negatif terhadap Islam yang digambarkan oleh media barat sebagai agama penghancur dan terorisme.
“Dia menggambarkan mereka dengan semua cara yang mengerikan dan itu membuat saya mulai memikirkan mereka dengan cara yang aneh, khususnya ketika dia meminta saya untuk menghindari anak laki-laki muslim di kamar mandi. Karena ada yang gay dan mereka suka berkerumun,” kata Amani dilansir about islam, Jumat (21/2/2020).
Meski sudah mengikuti instruksi dari ibunya untuk menjauh dari siswa muslim, namun pada suatu hari, Austin tertarik dengan kepribadian salah satu teman sekelas yang beragama Islam.
“Pria ini adalah titik balik hidup saya dan saya memanggilnya Mr Fwow, yang merupakan singkatan dari ‘Keajaiban Dunia Pertama’, karena ia membuat saya takjub dengan perilakunya, terutama ketika saya melihat bagaimana ia selalu gembira saat berhubungan dengan semua orang dan ia tampak tertawa tanpa khawatir. Dia bahkan akan tersenyum ketika dia bermasalah dengan guru,” jelasnya.
Perilaku Mr Fwow berdampak besar pada pandangan Amani tentang muslim, jadi dia mulai mendekatinya secara bertahap, dan pertanyaan pertama yang diajukan Amani kepadanya adalah, “Apa yang dilakukan anak-anak muslim ketika mereka berkerumun di wastafel di kamar mandi?” tanyanya.
“Dia mengatakan kepada saya bahwa mereka membersihkan diri sebelum salat, yang disebut dalam Islam dengan wudhu. Jadi saya mulai berpikir positif tentang muslim,” ujarnya.
Setelah itu, teman muslim Amani, mulai membawakan beberapa buku untuknya yang menjelaskan tentang Islam dan Aquran terjemahan bahasa Inggris, yang ia tumpuk di bawah tempat tidur lalu membacanya secara diam-diam setiap kali ia mengunci dirinya di kamar.
Ketika ia mulai membaca Alquran, tubuhnya mengalami suatu bentuk kedamaian yang aneh yang belum pernah ia rasakan dalam hidupnya sebelumnya dan misteri hidupnya pun terjawab.
Kecintaan Amani terhadap Islam telah ditanam di dalam dirinya seperti benih yang siap menumbuhkan buah.
Dia ingin bergabung dengan agama Islam yang membuatnya lebih bahagia dan membantunya hidup dengan bimbingan dari Allah Ta’ala.
Oleh karena itu, dia merasa terdorong untuk masuk Islam tanpa peduli dengan pendapat siapa pun dan dia dengan cepat memutuskan untuk pergi ke masjid terdekat di kotanya untuk menerima Islam dan mengucapkan syahadat secara rahasia, tanpa sepengetahuan anggota keluarganya, terutama ibunya yang memiliki pandangan paling keras tentang Islam dan muslim.
