Menurut murid-murid, Idiyanto memang dikenal sebagai guru yang tegas dalam menegakkan disiplin.
Saat Idiyanto hendak keluar dari gerbang sekolah, ia dipeluk murid-murid. Sejumlah murid bahkan menangis.
“Pak, terima kasih. Pak, jangan pergi,” ucap murid-murid SMAN 12 secara bersamaan.
Ketika keluar gerbang, Idiyanto masih dipanggil murid-muridnya. Melihat anak didiknya menangis, ia lantas ikut menangis pula.

Idiyanto sebelumnya memukul sejumlah muridnya di tengah lapangan pada Selasa lalu.
Kejadian itu direkam salah satu siswa, lalu diunggah oleh mantan siswa ke akun Facebook.
Dalam video tersebut, tampak sang guru memukul pundak dan kepala dua anak muridnya beberapa kali.
Di lapangan itu tampak barisan siswi yang tengah berdiri, sedangkan barisan siswa tengah jongkok.
Idiyanto memang dikenal temperamental dan sangat disiplin. Selama ini, Idiyanto diberi tugas menangani bidang kesiswaan.
Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Barat Dewi Sartika mengatakan, status guru Idiyanto kemungkinan dicopot.
Sebelumnya, jabatan Idiyanto sebagai wakil kepala sekolah telah dicabut.
Sebelum video tersebut viral, Idiyanto sudah meminta maaf dan menyesali perbuatannya.
“Dia bilang ke anak murid kalau telat itu jangan congkak, dia juga janji tidak akan melakukan perbuatannya lagi,” kata Irna Tiqoh, Wakil Kepala Sekolah.
Irna selaku wakil kepala sekolah juga telah meminta maaf kepada siswa-siswa yang saat itu dipukul.
“Sudah, kemarin kita sudah ngobrol, terutama saya meminta maaf atas nama humas, atas nama sekolah,” kata dia.
“Siswa udah kita panggil baik-baik, kemudian kita sampaikan juga kepada mereka apa yang sebenarnya terjadi dan apa yang sudah dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Kota Bekasi dan juga pihak guru-guru menyesalkan semua yang sudah terjadi dan mereka menerima permintaan maaf kami,” tutur dia.
